(a) On Windows Vista and Windows 7, GESTAR must be run in Administrator Mode. Running GESTAR on Windows Vista is not recommended at present as some GESTAR tools are not avalaible. Windows 7 is fully compatible with GESTAR.
(b) A freeware virtual PDF printer (Cute PDF Writer) is bundled with the GESTAR installer, in case this type of utility is not available, for visualising the documents generated in the optimum network sizing process.
(c) If using GESTAR’s I/O communications tools with ACCESS databases, the databases created by GESTAR (export processes) are in MS Office 97 format (compatible with all later versions), and user-generated databases to be read by GESTAR (e.g., import process) must be saved as MS Office 97 files.
(d) If using the GESTAR network I/O communications tools with AutoCAD, the version of AutoCAD must be from 2002 to 2009, inclusive (we recommend AutoCAD 2005, if possible). Due to the limitations on dialogue between applications in Windows Vista, the GESTAR tools for communication with AutoCAD experience problems under this OS. This limitations are not present in Windows 7.
